Where Is God When You Have a $90,000 Payroll to Make? Recently, a client said to me, “I want to know where God is when I have a $90,000 payroll due this week. Sometimes it feels like He doesn’t really care about my business.” If you’re honest, have you felt that too? Where is God when the pressure builds? Where is He when you enter a hard season, or when leadership feels like a lonely grind? This is the real work I do with the men I serve — not the church answer, not the Sunday-school version. We learn how to live in union with God. Brother Lawrence said it best: “There is not in the world a kind of life more sweet and delightful than that of a continual conversation with God; those only can comprehend it who practice and experience it.” My coaching sits at the intersection of identity, marriage, and vocation — because those cannot be separated in the life of a leader who wants to walk with God. If we journey together for a season, I will teach you how to:
This kind of work is solitary… but not meant to be done alone. It is formation. That leads to transformation. It is becoming the kind of leader God would trust with more of His Kingdom. What we do together is simple but not easy:
If this resonates, I’d be honored to explore whether a deep transformational partnership is right for you. Three Reasons Most Men Say “No”… and My Response“I need this… but I don’t have time.” Exactly. That’s the reason we must work together. You need a partner to help you redeem the time and live aligned so you can do the things that matter most with the people you love most. Soul + strategy + transformational accountability. “It sounds like church or counseling.” Totally — plug into your local church. But here’s the truth: When you’re carrying a $90,000 payroll, very few people understand that pressure. Share it publicly, and you look boastful. Share it privately, and nobody gets it. That’s why high-capacity leaders need a different kind of space. “My heart isn’t hungry for that deeper path.” I understand. That was me too — until an 18-month wilderness season broke me open and revealed my desperate need for God, truth, and humility. May you experience His peace and presence with the payroll and leadership entrusted to you. Happy Thanksgiving and Much Love! Be Strong! PS. I had a governor on my first car that probably saved my life. My 1987, black V-8 Camaro was a machine. And for some reason my parents were gracious enough to allow me to drive such a beast. It topped out at 120 mph and friends today recall our memories together of doing “j-turns” that I secretly learned by watching Secret Service videos. (My first vocational ambition was to be a pilot for them.) The governor kept me alive, but I never dared remove it to see what the car was truly capable of....
